Right in the heart of Albany’s business district in Orchard Park, this exceptional child care centre is truly a must-see. Set on one acre of land, it offers a welcoming and thoughtfully designed environment for preschool, infant and toddler care, providing children with the ideal space to learn, play and grow.

At Kids Cove ELC, we believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships in a nurturing environment. Our purpose-built centre welcomes children from 3 months to 6 years, with four age-appropriate learning rooms that support every stage of development. Our infant and toddler room includes a kitchenette, and our dedicated sleep room provides each child with their own cot for safe, comfortable rest. Bright indoor spaces and engaging outdoor play areas encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

We maintain low child-to-teacher ratios to provide every child with quality care and individual attention:

Under 2 years: 1:4
2–3 years: 1:8
4–6 years: 1:10

At Kids Cove Early Learning Centre Albany, our teachers are the heart of everything we do. Led by our Centre Manager, Leena Puri, our team of passionate educators is dedicated to providing exceptional early childhood education through meaningful relationships, purposeful play, and responsive teaching. We work in partnership with whānau, recognising that open, honest communication and shared aspirations are essential in supporting every child’s learning journey.

With over 80% of our teaching team holding recognised early childhood qualifications and a generous teacher-to-child ratio, we provide high-quality care and rich learning experiences tailored to each child’s unique strengths, interests, and developmental needs.

Our teaching philosophy is inspired by Te Whāriki, embracing a holistic approach that nurtures children’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and cultural wellbeing. Through play-based learning, we encourage children to be curious, creative thinkers who ask questions, solve problems, build resilience, and develop a lifelong love of learning. We see children as capable, competent learners and work alongside them as facilitators, guiding, extending, and celebrating their discoveries every day.

Meals That Follow Healthy Heart Foundation Guidelines

Prepared by professional cooks, our in house modern kitchen and dining areas will provide appetising and nutritious meals made from locally sourced natural ingredients that meet over 50% of your child’s recommended daily intake of all nutrients. We follow the healthy Heart foundation guidelines and have a 4 week cyclic menu and aim to include food from various cultures and welcome your suggestions. Parents are able to view our changing weekly menus displayed on the notice board.

If your child has a specific dietary requirement please inform the Centre prior to enrolment so we can provide suitable meals for your child.

If your child is on breast milk or formula, this needs to be provided to the Centre with instructions.

A Flexible Fee Structure

Also, at Kids Cove Albany, to meet the needs of our parents, we run many programmes that include, besides full days, other options of short days and sessions.

Our fees structures also vary to reflect the flexibility of our various programmes and provide our parent’s, the fees options, based on the time a child is enrolled for.
